Carmen Pampa Fund  was named a “2019 Top-Rated Nonprofit” in July by GreatNonprofits, the leading provider of user reviews of U.S. nonprofits. 

“We are honored to be named a 2019 Top-Rated Nonprofit,” says CPF Executive Director Hugh Smeltekop. “This recognition was made possible by former volunteers and visitors to the College who immediately responded when we asked them to write a review of our work.” 

Smeltekop said people not only wrote about how they witnessed the transformation that takes place in students’ lives at the College, but also how the experience profoundly impacted their own lives.

One former visiting professional wrote that his time in Carmen Pampa–more than a decade ago–remains a source of inspiration that he still draws on today. “The students’ desire to learn, the faculty’s passion for teaching, and the community’s engagement is unlike any I’ve ever seen in other developing countries and similar projects,” he wrote.

The Top-Rated Nonprofit Award is based on the rating and number of reviews received from volunteers, donors, and service recipients.
